BASF, Market Development - Polyamide and Intermediates
Dr.Walter Goetz studied chemistry from 1979 to 1983 at Technical University of Karlsruhe, Germany. He received a PhD in polymer chemistry from Polymerinstitut of Technical University of Karlsruhe in 1985. After graduation, he performed research on fiber reinforced thermoplastics at the Center for Composite Materials, University of Delaware, Newark/DE. He then joined the central plastics research division of BASF AG in Ludwigshafen, Germany, where he worked in R&D for polyamides, covering the segments nylon fibers, reinforced and filled nylon, impact-modification, heat and UV stabilisation and polymerisation research. Since 1994, he has been working in the Plastics Technical Service Group and has been responsible for the development and market introduction of new grades of nylon resin for film extrusion applications, as well as for technical support of this sector.
