Sabriye Ayhan

REP OF TURKIYE MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT, URBANIZATION AND CLIMATE CHANGE Head of Circular Economy and Waste Management Department

Sabriye Ayhan started to work as a Chemical Engineer at Elazığ Provincial Directorate of Environment in 2001. She worked as a supervisor in Air Management, Water Management and Environmental Impact Assessment for 8 years. In 2008, she was appointed to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. He worked as an engineer in the Hazardous Waste Management Branch Directorate between 2008-2014, Industrial Waste Management Branch Manager between 2014-2018, Medical and Special Waste Management Branch Manager between 2018-2021, Extended Producer Responsibility Branch Manager between 2021-2023. In 2023, he started to work as the Head of Circular Economy and Waste Management Department.
 
Sabriye Ayhan, who is involved in the creation, development and implementation of the legislation in force, has been working on the LIFE Hawaman Project - Improving the Management of Hazardous Wastes from Industry in Turkey, Preparation of Sectoral Waste Guidelines project (Casting, Galvanised coating, iron and steel, metal coating, painting and varnishing, automotive, white goods, etc.), "Disposal of Persistent Organic Pollutant Stocks and Reduction of Persistent Organic Pollutant Emissions" project in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) with large-scale project support from the Global Environment Facility (GEF), Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Management Project, Assessment of Waste Processing Plants within the Scope of Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control, Development of Compliance Requirement Models (IPPC-Waste Management), Technical Assistance Project for Development of End of Waste Concept in Turkey (ongoing), Technical Assistance Project for Assessment of Turkey's Potential for Transition to Circular Economy (ongoing).
